The conventional razor blades are becoming obsolete when it comes to shaving. Although there are high performance razors, Shavers are obviously the better alternative. Apart from replacing your razor more frequently than using a shaver, the performance is a major upgrade to the conventional. One of the known brands that produce high quality shavers is Panasonic and among its popular models is the Panasonic ES3830 Single Foil Wet/Dry Shaver.

Reviews

I was pleased with the long and faithful peformance of my original of this small Chinese-made Panasonic battery-driven travel shaver. Not long ago I was able to buy a new one for only about $4.00 here...(I do not recall how much the original was)--it appeared to be the exact twin of its predecessor, but to my surprise it has already completely failed after only about 2 weeks. The vibrator motor no longer engages the plastic stem holding the shaver blade array, so there is no cutting action. Initially this could be "cured" by tapping the unit a few times, but not anymore. Since I've "used" this thing, I guess I can't even return it for a replacement...

Motor in this thing seems to be stuck now. Forgot how much I payed for it but it was cheap. Cutting block and screen are the same as Panasonic ES3831K which is great cause I bought that one as well, which cost a little more. It burns my face. Instructions on this one or the other one I mentioned states it will burn the first time use as your face gets used to it. Took it apart and fixed it. It`s working again. Motor pin came out of the plastic slot. Came apart easy enough which must be the reason the pin eventually becomes misaligned and stops working from the vibration. Not to sure how well it cuts though. Guess it`s o k for the price. This was a replacement for the Braun 370 (no longer made) I was using, which I think was much better and had a trimmer on it. The replacement model for the Braun cost to much for me. So I bought this. Wont really know if it was worth it till later as i`m not really using it yet. I`m using a cheap no name pocket shaver bought from a catalog which catches my hair once in a while. But this one hasn't caught any hair on my face yet though, the 2 short times ive used it. O man! it stopped working again. Id pass this one up. Maybe mines defective? Glad I kept turning it on and off.

I've had this shaver now for the past 5 months which I use daily for the 5 o' clock shadow. Here's my opinion: Pros - portability, can get about 10 shaves before I notice the power dropping. Easy to clean, can use it in the shower if I wanted to. Cons - Need multiple (5-6) passes for a close shave, which gets worse if you don't clean out the shaver. The foil doesn't keep the hair shavings in well i.e., vibrations from the blade will shake the hair shavings out through the foil and onto the shaver or sink. This isn't much of a problem if you use it in the shower or with shaving cream. I would spend a little more to get a portable shaver with more than one foil and a trimmer next time. A closer shave would have been desired, but like I said, you get what you pay for.

Smash away on this razor. I bought this based on favorable reviews posted here. It lasted two weeks then the linkage from the cutter head to the motor destroyed itself. Now where did I put my hammer.

I'm not giving this product five stars because with my tough beard, it takes a few minutes using this razor to shave. But it does an effective job of shaving my beard's growth. It just takes a while to do so. For that reason, I'm rating it four stars and not five. But for most men, this product should work as well as any power (electricity, battery, or rechargable) razor out there.

Another great thing about the Panasonic ES3830 Single Foil Wet/Dry Shaver is that you can get it by just paying the shipping fee. It is a 20$ value, but Panasonic is giving it away at no cost as long as you shoulder the shipping charges. It is definitely a great way to test the quality of their product as well replacing your old razors.
